<p>Gadget enthusiasts will be oohing and ahhing over the Vivitar eek – a versatile and pocket-friendly device equipped to satisfy a variety of digital entertainment needs. This unique multifunctional gizmo combines a slimline video camcorder with a digital still camera, MP3 player and voice recorder.</p>
<p>With memory support for up to 256MB SD cards and a long life lithium-ion battery the Vivitar eek can record* more than an hour and 20 minutes of video, 1,000 images, 16hours of sound clips and endless MP3 music files. Compact and stylish it measures a mere 103mm long x 62mm wide x 16mm deep and is available in a funky black or white body finish.</p>
<p>The go-anywhere eek captures high quality MPEG4 video and sound in both VGA and XVGA formats. Offering five quality settings, it can be adjusted to allow for either maximum image quality or maximum recording capacity.</p>
<p>Featuring a fixed focus lens, eek captures all the action it sees from 0.8m to infinity while the 4x digital zoom enables a closer view. A 230-degree rotating lens together with eek’s compact size allows the camcorder to record from a variety of hard-to- reach angles.</p>
<p>Three image-shooting modes ensure optimum performance in everyday, night time and sporting conditions while variable exposure and white balance settings deliver superior recording in low light situations. Eek also features five built-in filters for specialised effects eliminating the need to attach lens filters. Effects include text, sepia, red, green and blue.</p>
<p>The 1.5 inch LPTS (Low Temperature Poly Silicon) TFT LCD screen has 120,000 pixels and is adjustable to four levels of brightness. A format more commonly used
on premium camcorders, the Vivitar eek provides excellent viewing clarity in full vivid colours.</p>
<p>The combined 2-megapixel digital still camera features sophisticated interpolated image enhancement technology to offer an output resolution of up to 4-megapixels. This produces high quality prints of up to A3 in size.</p>
<p>Other user friendly camera features include an optional automatic flash, a self timer with 10 second delay to give the user ample time to get into the picture and DPOF for direct printing of photos from the camera’s memory card files.</p>
<p>In addition to its camcorder and camera functions, the Vivitar eek includes an MP3 player. Tunes can be listened to through either the built-in speaker or included headphones and volume is adjustable to 21 levels.</p>
<p>Further adding to the versatility of eek is the voice recorder which records sound clips of varying quality ranging from 8kHz to 48kHz.</p>
<p>At just $449 rrp the Vivitar eek offers exceptional value for money. It comes with a 32MB memory card, lithium-ion battery and charger and a bundled software package including Photo Suite, Photo Vista, WIN DVD Creator SVCD and Windows Media Player 9.0</p>
