Sage has rolled out a number of new initiatives designed to build on its channel strategy, emphasising its focus on driving growth through and with its partners.
Revealed at the Cloud accounting software company’s Sage Summit, CEO Stephen Kelly spoke of his vision for company growth, highlighting partnerships as a way to deliver.
Consequently, Kelly pledged to drive 45 per cent of its worldwide revenue through partners, increasing this from 38 per cent.
According to Kelly, new initiatives and tools include a single Sage Partner Program, which replaces more than 54 worldwide partner programs - incorporating Independent Software Vendors (ISVs), strategic alliances, Value Added Resellers (VARs) and Cloud Service Providers (CSPs), together with accountants and corporate partners.
Kelly also revealed the launch of a Sage Marketplace for ISVs to have access to an open ecosystem that allows its members to showcase their Sage developer add-ons, with the vendor adding 150 new ISVs in the first 100 days.
In addition, a new Sage Partner Community will help provide partners with an environment for communication, exclusive content and support services, marketing development funding, online education and certification, alongside a new global reward program, which will be launched in February 2017.
Under this new scheme, Kelly said the top partners will be rewarded with an invitation to join the Sage CEO and executive team for an exclusive high level strategy session.
Sage executive vice-president of partners and alliances, Alan Laing, said the new initiatives are a commitment central to its business model and that the Sage partner strategy is designed to enable partners of all sizes to work together to solve customers’ increasingly complex business problems.
“It will do this through building and reselling solutions in a connected framework of providers collaborating locally and globally,” he said.
“It’s been a transformative year from a partner perspective for Sage.”
As part of its strategy to increase growth, Laing said Sage has also inked a series of strategic alliances with global software businesses.
“Sage’s commitment to our partners is serious,” he added. “The focus of our strategy is to bring consistency, support and the strength of our combined brands to our partners, in order to encourage profitable growth to all our partners.
“Sage partners are helping us to win in the market, and we are doing everything we can to achieve our shared goal.”
