MS Web site launched

Microsoft has launched a new look Web site for its partner community in Australia. The site at www.microsoft.com/australia/partner is designed to have the same look and feel as the revamped newsletter Microsoft sends to 20,000-plus contacts around Australia every fortnight. “We have always had a Web site in the past, but it has not always met the needs of our complete partner community,” Microsoft Australia channels manager, Kerstin Baxter, said. “It used to be far more weighted toward just resellers, but now it contains a lot more information for our whole partner community whether you are a reseller, a system builder or a certified service provider.”

Getronics hires sales guru

The Australian arm of European IT services firm Getronics has appointed Mark Grodzicky as the new commercial manager within its services division. He will provide commercial advice to the sales and marketing team, manage the review and approvals process and enhance knowledge management. “My major impact will be revamping the sales bid process,” Grodzicky said. “It is currently working quite well but I will be looking to streamline it and give sales people greater access to resources.”

New faces at DiData

Dimension Data has appointed two new faces to its NSW management team. Six-year DiData employee Michelle Tea has been promoted to branch manager, after a stint as account director. Tea will concentrate on managing the sales, solutions and service delivery groups as well as establishing and developing strategic partner and vendor relationships. David Gray joins Dimension Data as an account manager tasked with developing customer relationships, sales management and defining a strategic focus for key accounts. His previous role was as an account executive with the Global Switch data centre in Ultimo.
