InterSystems Formalises Caché Application Partner Program, Launches Partner Portal To Help Application Partners Build Their Businesses

<p>SYDNEY, 16 October, 2003 -- InterSystems, the leading provider of post-relational database systems, has formalised its local Caché Application Partner Program -- signing 35 Caché application partners since its Australian launch a year ago -- and unveiled a local Partner Portal to help application partners build, market and sell their Caché-based applications.</p>
<p>InterSystems local partners include Insight Informatics, TrakHealth, Détente Systems and DiscLinc. Caché is InterSystems' post-relational database that combines high-performance SQL for faster queries and an advanced object database for rapidly storing and accessing data.</p>
<p>"As the world's number one embedded database provider, we've built our business on successful partnerships with innovative application developers," said Denis Tebbutt, Managing Director for InterSystems in Australia. "InterSystems invests considerable resources in working with partners, including business development programs, engineering support and joint marketing activities.</p>
<p>"Our business model reflects our commitment to our partners -- for example, we don't sell our own consulting services and we don't get paid until our partners successfully deploy their Caché-based solutions," said Mr Tebbutt. "With the new Partner Portal, our partners have a powerful new tool to help them develop, launch and grow sales for their Caché-based applications."</p>
<p>Brisbane-based Insight Informatics is one local application partner that has benefited from a partnership with InterSystems. Insight Informatics is the developer of CivicView, an integrated local government management solution, and Libero, a high-performance library management solution, with several hundred sites in Australia and several hundred more internationally.</p>
<p>InterSystems' support for Insight Informatics has involved sales and business development, engineering pre-sales support and marketing support. Activities supported include Insight Informatics' participation at InterSystems' CeBIT exhibition stand in Germany, assistance with Insight's launch into international markets via InterSystems' partner network, and marketing roadshows with InterSystems contributing staff resources and providing facilities.</p>

The Partner Portal contains a broad range of information about support available to partners to help them grow their businesses, in addition to Caché marketing and support information.</p>
<p>Information available on the Partner Portal includes:

* Services available to local partners, such as free engineering resources to build proofs of concept and engineering resources to support partner application sales calls;
* Tools to help partners position and sell the Caché database engine their applications are built upon, such as sales slides, competitive analysis and benchmark studies;
* Account management tools, such as partner forms, license ordering and price lists;
* Business strategy tools and government support and industry associations.</p>
<p>InterSystems has also added a Partner section on its public website at www.intersystems.com.au to promote Caché application partners and their products.</p>
