Hills (ASX:HIL) has signed an exclusive distributor agreement with US wireless technology vendor, G8 Communications (ASX:G8C).
Following the vendor’s acquisition in 2015 by Perth-based product engineering services company, Leopard Resources, G8 Communications has been publicly listed on the ASX.
However, this is the first time G8 has signed a distie agreement outside of the US, signifying that the vendor sees potential in A/NZ’s Internet of Things (IoT) market.
Key terms of the distribution deal finds Hills to be an exclusive distributor of specific G8C products and all product sales will be pursued through its A/NZ team.
The products include two Machine Connect modems to be used as connectivity and communication devices for robotics, drones, energy management and connected health.
The ER1000T router will be used for surveillance cameras, home automation, security and access control and the EM1000T is designed for use in digital signs and vending machine POS terminals.
Hills will also distribute the CIO Live Eye 1000, a 3G-4G live streaming video camera designed for emergency services, law enforcement and security monitoring industries within Australia.
The distributor also recently signed a $36 million, five-year debtor finance facility through Assetsecure, as well as a $15 million, multi-tranche senior secured debt facility from Commonwealth Bank.
