ASX-listed BigAir (ASX:BGL) has been appointed to install and manage a high speed Wi-Fi network to help deliver fast internet services for Brisbane students using accommodation provider, The Pad.
The new 286 room student accommodation facility will open in September and is based in Woolloongabba, Brisbane, which is part of a pipeline of more than 2500 rooms to come from The Pad.
“We have a plan to develop and operate over 5000 beds in the next three to five years, so starting on this path is exciting and by appointing BigAir to install on the first site, we’re confident that our customers will have the best experience for their online education and leisure,” The Pad COO, Fabby Ernesta, said.
BigAir CEO, Jason Ashton, said having a fast and reliable internet experience was crucial for students studying away from home.
The company manages about 40,000 student beds in campus environments
around the country.
