Sustainability Victoria and SMS Management and Technology (SMS) were recognised at the 2016 Australian Government ICT Awards held at CeBIT Australia in Sydney.
The Australian Government ICT awards recognise innovation across local, state and Federal government agencies.
The online business management platform, ‘SV Enabled’, developed on the Microsoft Dynamics CRM platform was created by the two companies, and won the Project and Program Management category.
According to Sustainability Victoria, SV Enabled reduced the time taken to manage contracts and procurements, and communication with stakeholders.
Sustainability Victoria information systems business manager, Chris Moon, said the project with SMS was undertaken in a very different way to how government agencies usually work.
"It was much more collaborative and there was a much deeper engagement on both sides. This was one of the key strengths we found with SMS,” he said.
“It was our first agile project, but it produced much better results than we could have hoped for using more traditional procurement."
SMS and Sustainability Victoria spent seven months developing SV Enabled. To date, SV Enabled manages more than 30,000 transactions a year.
