Shimano receives managed services and hosted disaster recovery services

Hybrid Cloud solutions specialist, VMtech, has partnered with Shimano Australia in its digital transformation journey to deliver agility and enhance operational efficiency across its distribution centre.

VMtech designed and implemented Shimano’s on-premises storage and network environment to deliver integrated managed services and hosted disaster recovery (DR) services to the company.

Shimano Australia IT manager, Tim Clark, said the company envisioned an automated distribution centre following the merge of the company’s cycling and fishing business.

“As we looked to refresh, VMtech stood apart as a solution provider with unparalleled consulting and technical expertise. They architected and implemented a successful deployment of our new storage and virtualised environment, outlining a clear understanding of our needs. The business benefits of having specialists manage and monitor our infrastructure clearly outshone the benefits of developing an internal IT team and was commercially advantageous.”

VMtech chief technology officer, Richard Clark, added, “We are seeing positive market feedback and increased momentum for our As-a-Service offerings. The success of our partnership with Shimano reinforces the capability of our team and the relevancy of our solutions in enabling our customers’ success.”
