Avalanche Media has appointed WA-based ComputerCorp and national integrator, Volante Solutions, as its latest reseller partners. The two companies are among 16 partners picked up by the PDF Factory and FinePrint software distributor in the past three months.
The company's director of business development, Peter Cameron, said it had hoped to boost its total number of resellers across Australia from 40 to 75 partners by October, but had fallen short after losing its channel program coordinator.
With new staff member, Tim Dawson, onboard Cameron said Avalanche would look to target specific resellers that offered vertical and geographic coverage.
For example, the vendor still lacked sufficient market clout in Canberra and South Australia, he said.
"Most of the new resellers we have picked up are really targeting the SME market rather than any particular verticals," he said. "In some regards we haven't met our own criteria, but by the same token, we have picked up some big boys in ComputerCorp and Volante."
The vendor had concentrated its efforts on the New Zealand market following its securing of distribution rights for the PDF Factory and FinePrint range in that country, Cameron said.
The company had just appointed its first NZ partner, Eagle Technology.
Avalanche was also in the midst of ramping up its range, he said, with negotiations well under way for distribution of a new antivirus range in A/NZ.
"There has been a real attitude that the big boys such as McAfee and Symantec are out there and we should take them on," Cameron said.
