Information management company, Veritas has made enhancements to its Enterprise Vault 12 and Data Insight 5.1, including advanced classification, support for Box, and automated remediation workflows.
The solutions aim to give businesses visibility into their unstructured data and drive informed decisions about information to retain and what to delete for compliance and discovery.
Enterprise Vault 12 classifies ingested content such as emails, files, SharePoint and social media. As part of the enhancements, Intelligent Review uses a continuously learning engine to prioritize archived content and relevant items for review.
The Image Optical Character Recognition (OCR) enables search and discovery of archived images by extracting embedded text from images for indexing and classification and the Gated Deletion feature is said to improve compliance by enabling archived information to be deleted only if it meets current retention policies.
Veritas information intelligence senior vice-president and general manager, Greg Muscarella, said, “in today’s digital age, virtually every organization struggles with the challenges brought on by exponential data growth with the average business spending as much as $US20.5 million annually on stale data.”
“To manage their data deluge, most seek to expand their existing infrastructure. However, a proactive information governance strategy can deliver significant bottom line results whilst reducing risk. Enterprise Vault 12 and Data Insight 5.1 deliver innovations that empower organisations to gain visibility into their data and make smart decisions,” he continued.
