Elite athlete management software company, SMG Technologies, has signed a two-year sponsorship deal with the Queensland Reds, ahead of the 2016 Super Rugby Season.
As part of the sponsorship, SMG’s elite team product logo, SportsMed, will feature on the Queensland Reds’ Super Rugby Jersey and includes ownership of various Queensland Rugby’s pathway programs and stadium messaging.
SMG chief executive, Zane Hall, said it is only natural to further extend the relationship with the Queensland Reds as the team has been utilising SMG’s proprietary software that provides data-based insights to optimise the players mental and physical performance over the past six months.
Queensland Rugby Union executive general manager, Daniel Herbert, said, “SMG Technology are incredibly experienced in their field and we look forward to seeing how their systems can benefit not only the Reds, but our pathways as well.”
“We have implemented a lot of change at Queensland Rugby in the last six months and all of that has been targeted at getting the best systems and structures in place to support the Reds and ensure they have all they need to perform to the best of their ability. SportsMed is another addition we believe will have significant benefits for our game,” he added.
