Alister Dias has been crowned as the new vice president and managing director for VMware A/NZ.

He steps into his new role from April 1, replacing Duncan Bennet who left the company on December 31, citing personal reasons.

Until Dias officially takes on the new mantle, VMware Asia Pacific and Japan vice president, Sharat Sinha, will continue as interim general manager for the business in A/NZ.

Dias maintains more than 30 years experience across business leadership, sales, technical and channel management roles and was most recently the vice president and managing director for EMC A/NZ. He also worked at CA Technologies and Soft Centre.

In the meantime, EMC Asia Pacific and Japan president, David Webster, will take on local duties until a replacement for Dias is found.
