Ray Owen will become the Head of Australia, New Zealand and Pacific Islands as part of the planned combination of Nokia and Alcatel-Lucent, who are in the final stages of joining forces at both a local and international level.
Owen’s appointment however will take after, and is subject to, the successful closing of the public exchange offer for Alcatel-Lucent securities announced on April 15, 2015.
Owen - who is currently the Head of Singapore, Philippines, Australia and New Zealand at Nokia Networks - will manage and oversee the combined company’s customer operations across Australia, New Zealand and Pacific Islands, implementing the execution of strategy and enhancing the company’s business relationship with customers, supported by the strategic focus on innovation and quality.
“We are pleased to announce the appointment of Ray Owen as designated Head of Australia, New Zealand and Pacific Islands,” says Paul Tyler, Head of Asia Pacific and Japan, Nokia.
“Ray has strong track record and extensive experience in driving best-in-class customer solutions across the market unit.
“I look forward to working with him as we continue to drive the business momentum in the market unit.”
As alluded to by Tyler, the proposed appointment is effective only after the successful closing of the public exchange offer - which includes Nokia holding more than 50 percent of the share capital of Alcatel-Lucent on a fully diluted basis - and is subject to the completion of the relevant works council consultation procedures.
