PacNet opens Brisbane office

Pacific Internet has opened a new office in Brisbane, where it plans to create a “regional hub” for Asia-Pacific broadband connections.

The Internet Service Provider (ISP) intends to increase its customer base in the ‘Smart State’ by using the office to support its Queensland-based channel partners.

An ISP spokesperson said it had several important resellers already signed in the region, but was looking to attract the state’s larger systems integrators through the appointment of a Queensland-based channel manager, Paul Rees.

The company would then extend its reach south into the Gold Coast, north to the Sunshine Coast and into other major regional centres — and eventually planned to establish an outbound direct sales force from its Brisbane office once it has achieved the necessary scale
