Optus Wholesale has signed an exclusive five-year prepaid agreement with MVNO, My Mobile Data (MMD).
The start-up focuses on delivering video and live audio content to mobile devices and tablets and through its brand OVO, MMD will provide content for the Australian V8 Supercars as part of a new three year deal.
The deal will see subscribers access live trackside commentary, never seen before archive footage and more.
“Optus understands the importance of unique and engaging customer content and we are excited to be supporting OVO to deliver its customers content like the V8 Supercars, following our own recent Cricket and English Premier League content deals,” Optus Wholesale managing director, Rob Parcell, said.
There are more than 3.5 million V8 Supercar fans in Australia and OVO is targeting a large audience with its no contract prepaid plans.
“This relationship is about ensuring we have access to enable the delivery of video and audio content for our customers,” MMD CEO, Matt Jones, said.
Customers will be able to access OVO V8 Supercars content and audio via both a web app and website. The web-based business is backed by an Australian-based contact centre and is targeting its second major content partnership in the first quarter of 2016.
