Canon Australia has made its fourth acquisition in four years, buying New Zealand Post Group’s managed services and business processing outsourcing company, Converga for an undisclosed sum.
Converga will remain a standalone business, with the same management team and structure.
In a statement, Canon said the business will retain its independence and management autonomy, while benefiting from Canon’s investment, brand, leadership and product suite.
“Converga is a fantastic company that we intend to invest in and grow, long into the future. The acquisition of Converga, enables us to expand our capability in managed service and business process outsourcing, strengthening our offering to customers,” Canon Oceania managing director, Yusuke Mizoguchi, said.
Converga has over 1,300 staff based in offices and technology centres throughout Australia, New Zealand, United States and the Philippines in more than 120 customer locations.
Less than 18 months ago, Canon took a majority stake of Harbour IT. It has also purchased Sun Studios and Oce Australia.
