Energy management and automation company, Schneider Electric, has named Joe Craparotta as its new Pacific zone vice-president of IT business. He will also step into the newly created role of vice-president of strategic customers and segments, Pacific.
As the vice-president for the IT Business, representing the APC by Schneider Electric brand and Schneider Electric’s datacentre solutions, Craparotta will draw on his 20 years of knowledge in the sector, having experienced many of the technological convergence shifts seen in the industry to date.
He will also bring new expertise to the position from his previous role as vice-president of Schneider Electric’s Energy Business in Australia.
In this role, he mentioned that he aims to use his extensive experience to work with partners to leverage the scale and speed of digitalisation.
“Innovation in the IT space has long been a passion of mine so I’m thrilled to take on this new position and look forward to working with a range of talented technology professionals,” he said.
In addition to this, Craparotta will also establish and lead Schneider Electric’s strategic customers and segments team.
He indicated the team is an important component of Schneider Electric’s continued commitment to provide strategic partners with service and expertise to support them in remaining agile and achieving sustainable growth.
“We understand our partners operate within a rapidly changing technology landscape and this can create an uncertain future. For this reason, we are dedicated to working with our partners closely throughout this evolution and equip them to remain competitive leaders in their respective fields.
“Schneider Electric has always been a company with its partners at its core and we are confident that we can help increase productivity through innovative collaboration. This dual role will ensure the best quality services and support for partners in the IT sector and beyond,” he said.
Schneider Electric A/NZ zone president, Gareth O’Reilly, claimed having worked across numerous sectors over the past eight years at Schneider Electric, Craparotta brings extensive experience to both roles, especially in sales, business transformation and the adoption of new technologies.
His previous role as vice-president of Schneider Electric’s Energy Business saw him heavily involved in the convergence of technology as he helped energy and infrastructure providers prepare for a changing future. He was in this role for almost three years.
Prior to that, Craparotta served the company as its general manager of sales between 2011 and 2013 and as its APC northern region manager between 2008 and 2011.
“We are delighted to announce this evolution of Joe’s role at Schneider Electric and to have him as the vice-president for two key business areas. His long history in the IT sector and his passion for our partners make him the perfect person to evolve expertise and service in both parts of the business,” O’Reilly said.
Some of Craparotta’s other stints include working at Commander for three years as its state manager and at Indicium Technology Group as its director for a little over eight years.
