Trend Micro has finalised a global agreement to expand its strategic alliance with VMware.
According to a company statement, the partnership helps customers to accelerate and maximise investment in VMware NSX, and realise advanced security, speed, agility and operational efficiency with Trend Micro Deep Security.
Trend Micro Asia Pacific director of Cloud and Datacentre security, Sasha Pavlovic, said the agreement was a natural and exciting evolution of the security firm’s long-standing relationship with VMware, that reinforced the use of Deep Security to deliver comprehensive security for mutual customers.
“With this new agreement, Trend Micro is better positioned to address the needs of organisations that are adopting a software-defined Datacentre and VMware NSX network virtualisation while helping ensure the success of our mutual customers and partners.”
Trend Micro said the agreement builds on established interoperability and a history of innovation, to better position and more easily deliver the combined solution to customers through coordinated sales and market development activities.
This includes single item ordering both directly and through channel partners. it said customer issues would be resolved more quickly and efficiently through an enhanced shared support escalation process.
Additionally, the solution is said to simplify and automate workload lifecycles, and further reduce the attack surface in VDI environments through isolation and segmentation of traffic, while maximising consolidation ratios.
Trend Micro claimed automated deployment and provisioning of Deep Security components with VMware NSX allows organisations to address key regulatory and compliance requirements, separate tenant policies and data, and support elastic Cloud scaling.
