Big Data solutions company, Invigor Group (ASX: IVO), has been engaged to provide the Sunshine Coast Council (SCC) with its Insights Visitor platform as part of the move towards applying technology in a Smart City environment.
The rollout is a joint project in conjunction with network provider, BigAir Group, and hardware provider, Ruckus Wireless. It will be set up as a demonstration to show how data analytics and mobile applications can make the Sunshine Coast an even more liveable, workable and sustainable region.
This rollout will see Invigor deliver analytics for the SCC via its Insights Visitor platform. In specific, Invigor will assist SCC by providing analytics in respect of users of the Wi-Fi and other sensors in a key public area in Caloundra.
SCC aims to deliver a Smart City vision, with a range of new technology supported services to contribute toward reshaping the region’s economy.
The Wi-Fi connectivity component of the program will provide free Wi-Fi coverage across key locations, which include the council’s libraries and galleries, business precinct open spaces, council courtyards and parks.
Invigor executive chairman, Gary Cohen, said it was an excellent opportunity for the company to partner with the SCC and make this Smart City a reality by developing technology that is about benefits to the community.
“Our Insights Visitor solution will enable SCC to take the lead in delivering services that residents, businesses and visitors are coming to expect in city centres. We expect to see similar initiatives introduced in other regions and through this partnership, Invigor will take position at the forefront of analytics solutions for these systems,” Cohen claimed.
