Deloitte Australia has joined forces with one of Australia’s Oracle integrators, Dataweave. The acquisition will see the 40 directors and staff of Dataweave move across to Deloitte Australia.
Dataweave provides a full range of services to public sector and commercial organisations that use Oracle to support their business, including consultancy services, systems integration, application development, managed services, software licenses, and hardware services. As a result of the acquisition, these services will fall under the Deliotte banner.
The company issued a statement in relation to the deal, which mentioned the move was made to strengthen its local capabilities in Oracle, as well as identity management and Cloud solution delivery.
Deloitte Australia’s Oracle practice leader, Craig Smith, said the union of Deloitte and Dataweave comes in response to client demand, particularly around the transition to Cloud solutions.
“This transaction is the next step in executing Deloitte’s strategy of investment to bolster its Oracle capabilities in the region. Bringing the team from Dataweave into Deloitte will extend the firm’s capability to shape and support the C- Suite agenda,” he said.
Deloitte Consulting managing partner, Robert Hillard, mentioned the union brought together capabilities that Australian business and government are looking for to support their business transformation goals and deal with changing markets, technology and client expectations.
“Joining Deloitte provides us with the opportunity to leverage its infrastructure to support the growth of its business. Deloitte’s brand, scale and breadth of services provides access to a broader set of opportunities for career advancement for the incoming staff and increased potential to grow their careers,” Dataweave managing director, Norman Weaver, said.
