Microsoft welcomes Ignite, farewells TechEd

aimed at IT pros, IT decision makers, andenterprise developers from small to large enterprises

Microsoft has introduced a new annual "tech-fuelled"event, Microsoft Ignite Australia, replacing TechEd Australia which has been an annual on the calendar since 1994.

Ignite is set for November 17-20 at the Gold Coast Convention Centre,

The move was revealed in a blog by Microsoft Australia Technology Evangelist, Vaughan Knight.

Knight said the event bought together "the best from all your favourite tech events" – including TechEd – plus more, into a single tech-fuelled enterprise event.

"Expect to get answers, test-drive technologies, and connect with peers, tech leaders and Microsoft experts," he wrote.

"There has never been a more exciting time to belong to the tech community. As the industry continues to move at a rapid pace, Microsoft Ignite Australia promises to bring the best and brightest from across the country and beyond to talk about what is fuelling tech innovation today."

According to Knight, Ignite is aimed at IT pros, IT decision makers, and enterprise developers from small to large enterprises and is designed for everybody who has attended TechEd and any other tech conference in the past, as well as those who have never attended a Microsoft event before.

He said Ignite will focus on the full Microsoft commercial product and service portfolio including Office 365, Windows, Microsoft Azure, Windows Server, System Center, Windows Intune, SQL Server, Visual Studio, SharePoint, Project, Skype, Exchange, Dynamics and more.

Customers and partners can sign-up for to receive updates about the event content, speakers, ticket price, format, registration or follow the conversation on #MSAUIGNITE.
