Enterprise distributor, NEXTGEN, has added IT management software vendor, SolarWinds, to its portfolio.

The agreement places SolarWinds as NEXTGEN’s exclusive software monitoring vendor and strengthens its commitment to the channel, distributor reach and A/NZ market positioning.

The new relationship will step up SolarWinds’ reach into the A/NZ enterprise market and expands NEXTGEN’s IT automation, management, cloud, application and database solutions.

NEXTGEN joins Ingram Micro and M.Tech in the distribution line up.

Key factors that led to the deal involved NEXTGEN ’s strength in the datacentre market and SolarWinds’ capability to monitor and manage IT across the entire datacentre infrastructure.

NEXTGEN managing director, John Walters, said it was looking for the right partner to round out its automation and management solutions. Some of the factors that were considered during the due diligence process involved understanding their technology, company culture and ambitions.

"SolarWinds' growth ambitions, channel strategy and technology, made them the right partner for us.

“Nextgen continues to strategically build out its technology stack to ensure we provide real solutions and not simply a line card of vendors,” Walters said. “The SolarWinds range of technologies adds significantly to our automation and management portfolio while strongly complementing our business applications and database solution areas.”

Partners will be supported through marketing, pre-sales and support services for the product range.

SolarWinds Pacific region senior vice president and general manager, John Rizzo, said the relationship was a key part of its expansion strategy in the enterprise datacentre space.

“We believe the company will help us reach a wider audience of potential users and develop a dynamic set of channel partners who can promote and deliver SolarWinds’ products to their customers,” Rizzo said.

"We need to align ourselves with good partners that have an understanding of IT and the channel. SolarWinds has a wide suite of products, but we don't have the local, technical skills with channel that NEXTGEN can bring and we wanted to work with them to rapidly grow our business."

SolarWinds customers descend from enterprises, telco and mid-market sectors.
