Atlassian launches solution update globally at AWS Sydney Summit

Boosts AWS partnership

Atlassian has used the Amazon Web Services Sydney Summit as a platform to launch its updated solution for more than 13,000 organisations around the world.

Stash 3.8 provides a scalable Git (a distributed revision control system with an emphasis on speed, data integrity, and support for distributed, non-linear workflows) for organisations to create and manage Git repositories with enterprise grade security, extensibility and collaborative code review.

Support for AWS allows businesses that use Stash to experience the benefits of AWS while maintain control of the configuration and set-up of Stash.

Hosting Stash on AWS gives users the ability the benefit from AWS lower layer control and scalability while maintaining configuration and set-up of the widely used solution.

It also provides user with the option of configuring their AWS server in any manner and allows the use of pre-built Amazon Machine Images.

AWS head of global technology alliances told ARN partners already had ready access to a well known and tursted DevOPs solution that scaled with dynamic nature of the AWS global Cloud platform.

Bringing Stash to the AWS developer community through AWS Marketplace is a huge step towqrd provding customers with the tools they need to create powerful applications on the AWS Cloud."

More than 80 per cent of enterprises globally will be using IaaS by the end of the year, according to Ovum.

Atlassian vice-president and general manager of developer tools, Eric Wittman, said IaaS and hybrid Cloud solutions that split deployments between Cloud and on-premise datacentres were now standard for customers .

"Support for AWS give them the options they need and have come to expect."

Introduced in 2012, Stash has won customers including Nordstrom, Samsung, Cisco and Best Buy.

It is the second Atlassian product to support AWS.

HipChat Server, the company's communications platform that combines one-to-one messaging, group chat, voice,video, and file and screen sharing on any connected device, was designed from day one on AWS kit.

It is now available in the AWS Marketplace and licenses start from from $10 for 10 users.
