Software storage vendor, PernixData, is ramping up its Australian presence as it anticipates strong demand and growth in the region.
Its vice president of worldwide sales, Ted Stinson, was recently in town. He joined PernixData when it was foundered two years ago by Satyam Vaghani and Poojan Kumar.
Stinson said the founders spotted an opportunity to take advantage of flash storage within a datacentre environment. Since then, the vendor has experienced exponential growth in the market and has now turned its focus on Australia.
“This market presents an exciting opportunity for us. It’s a very advanced and highly virtualised marketplace between A/NZ, with a history of embracing new technology,” Stinson said. “We’re very confident in this market and we expect it to grow significantly in the next 12 months.”
In December last year, PernixData, hired Jonathan Silver, as its A/NZ sales director. He previously worked for virtualisation vendor, Veeam Software and Citrix.
The vendor is relying on its local partners to help drive its growth in Australian marketplace. Some of its local partners include Katana1, Cloud Solutions Group, Xpanse, VMtech, Blue Apache and BEarena.
“We’re looking for focused partners that have a strong heritage in storage and virtualisation that want to add value to their customers. We’ll be making sure they’re committed and supported to enable them and proactively drive business in the market,” Silver said. “In short period of time we’ve been able to sign on some significant customers across different use cases.”
