Keeping a close watch on Adobe

There is nothing like a good give-away to get people inter-ested in a product and Adobe have introduced a timely one that may keep the latest version of Pagemaker ticking over at the sales counter.

Adobe's new promotion - which retailers will be able to capitalise on as a method of boosting sales of Pagemaker 6.5 in Australia - gives customers the opportunity to win a designer watch. To obtain the Adobe promotional watch, customers will only have to buy the product, complete a coupon and return it to Adobe. The watch will then be mailed back direct to the buyer.

The promotion will operate until September 11, with the channel partners involved also receiving a complimentary designer watch as well as point of sale items and display posters.

With sales and marketing professionals, secretaries, personal assistants and small business managers identified as new growth markets for Adobe, the promotion is aimed at prompting this cashed-up market to take a closer look at the product.

"Pagemaker is used by businesses throughout Australia to publish virtually any document from brochures and newsletters to advertisements," Mark Pieper, Adobe Pacific's general manager, said.

"In these days of the busy exec-utive, often sales and marketing professionals need to produce their own promotional materials and Pagemaker provides the tools for them to still deliver professional results in that scenario."
