Network monitoring company Emulex Corporation has appointed former BMC chief technology officer, David Williams, as vice president of product management and strategy for its network visibility products portfolio.
Williams will be responsible for driving the product roadmap, strategy development, and identifying new market opportunities.
According to a company statement, he brings 30 years of global IT experience in the design, development, marketing and implementation of enterprise software products at companies including BMC, IBM Tivoli, and CA, and was also an industry analyst at Gartner.
Emulex senior vice president and general manager, NVP, Ali Hedayati, said Williams' product management expertise would be integral as the company continued to develop its long-term strategy for the NVP division.
“He joins us at a pivotal time, as we capitalise on the market opportunity to deliver network visibility and performance solutions, while expanding our focus on the growing software and virtualisation markets in the year ahead.”
William said he was thrilled to join the team.
"I look forward to honing our NVP product development and long-term roadmap in the year ahead,” he said.
“There is a market need for network visibility and performance solutions at every level of the datacentre and the Emulex NVP portfolio delivers the performance needed for today’s market requirements.”
