Bomb scare brings show to a halt

Thousands of show-goers were evacuated from the OracleWorld conference on Wednesday because of an apparent bomb scare.

Police entered the Moscone Center in San Francisco shortly before 1500 (PT), just as attendees were filing into an afternoon keynote speech. Soon after, an announcement was made over the loudspeakers: "Folks, we are evacuating the building."

There were no initial reports of injuries. An Oracle representative onsite confirmed that the evacuation was due to a bomb scare.

OracleWorld kicked off Monday and was due to wrap up yesterday. About 18,000 people were expected to attend.
