Former Dicker Data commercial director Chris Price has signed as distributor Ingram Micro's new general manager for HP.
The appointment, effective immediately, comes just four months after his resignation from competing distributor Dicker Data in September.
As of today, Price will be running Ingram's entire HP portfolio and will take control of the HP printing, PC and enterprise team.
Ingram Micro Australia managing director, Matt Sanderson, said the company was very pleased that Chris Price would be joining its management team to lead its HP portfolio in its entirety with immediate effect.
"It’s not often you are able to strengthen your team with the calibre of a person such as Chris, so to take the opportunity to bring him on board was an easy decision for us," he said.
"Our combined HP portfolio remains the largest part of our business, and having worked at Ingram in the past, coupled with his extensive experience of this vendor, Chris knows our culture and appreciates where we want to take the business in the coming years.
"We agreed that this is a strong and natural fit and one in which both we and Chris are excited by the challenge.”
Price was with Dicker Data for more than eight years after joining in 2006 following five years at Ingram Micro as IBM Business Manager, HP Product Manager, and three years at Tech Pacific (which was eventually taken over by Ingram Micro in 2004) as IBM Product Manager, Nationals BDM, NSW BDM , Onsite CSR.
