NetComm Wireless inks Sphinx M2M distribution agreement

Delivered to key vertical markets including energy, health care, manufacturing, security, traffic systems, railway and marine

NetComm Wireless Limited has signed distribution agreement with SPHINX Computer Vertriebs GmbH to deliver a range of wireless Machine-to-Machine products.

The products will be delivered to key vertical markets including energy, health care, manufacturing, security, traffic systems, railway and marine.

According to a company statement, the new collaboration will strengthen NetComm Wireless' position in the region and stimulate further M2M market growth through the delivery of innovative open source M2M devices designed to offer seamless connectivity and global interoperability.

With Europe's cellular M2M connections expected to grow from 6.8 per cent of total mobile connections today to 20.4 per cent by 2020, the agreement represents a significant opportunity for NetComm Wireless.

NetComm Wireless chief executive, David Stewart, said partnering with SPHINX presented an exciting opportunity for NetComm Wireless to expand its reach and to play a key role in the mass uptake of M2M across Europe.

"SPHINX is a leading supplier of data communication products to the majority of Europe's markets and we look forward to delivering leading-edge products designed to make a significant impact, particularly in terms of connectivity, accessibility and versatility."

S-Connect UK Sales Manager, Chris Hardy, who is responsible for the NetComm brand inside the SPHINX Group, said NetComm Wireless was a world renowned innovator of wireless M2M devices.

"We are pleased to introduce this market-leading technology to customers as market demand for simple and flexible open source M2M products escalates," he said.

"NetComm Wireless' M2M devices will unlock the market opportunity in areas such as energy, health care, public infrastructure, retail and manufacturing."
