Dimension Data has reshuffled its executive ranks with two major appointments to its national team, and one regionally.
Michael Slip has been appointed general manager of the Australian communications business, while Paul O’Donohoe has been named general manager of the networking business.
In addition to the two national roles, Steve Gunn, has been named as ACT Manager.
O’Donohoe joins Dimension Data Australia from Gen-i, where he most recently held the role of managing director.
He spent more than a decade with Gen-i in a number of roles and brings extensive ICT experience and networking knowledge from both a telco and systems integrator perspective, according to a company statement.
Slip joined Dimension Data from Optus in 2007 and held the role of Customer Interactive Solutions (CIS) practice manager for Australia’s northern region until his appointment as general manager.
The communications business unit is a newly formed go-to-market entity for Dimension Data, a combination of the CIS and its Converged Communications practices.
Dimension Data Australia’s director of business units, Pete Murray, said both executives had extensive IT industry experience, which would help clients simplify their IT and improve cost efficiencies.
“Paul is the perfect fit for the networking general manager role, given his strong record of inspirational leadership in his previous positions and his ability to execute a strategic vision,” Murray said.
“Michael is a highly regarded leader in the Dimension Data team, and his passion for the latest technology innovations and finding how they can be used to advance our clients’ business goals will be invaluable in the new Communications business unit.”
Gunn joins Dimension Data from Technology One, where he held the role of ACT regional manager for more than two years.
He will be instrumental in leveraging the recently announced Canberra Managed Cloud Platform as part of his leadership of the ACT office.
