The latest version of this Serial ATA 10,000rpm hard drive has double the capacity of its predecessor. Other features include Ultra/150 Command Queuing — which is designed to optimise the sequence of data transfer and increase efficiency — and Rotary Accelerometer Feed Forward technology to maintain performance in high-vibration environments. The vendor claims the new drives come with a mean time between failure of 1.2 million hours, a 4.5 millisecond average seek time and a five-year warranty. The WD Raptor will be available in November through Achieva, Tech Pacific, Digiland, Westan and Esys.
RRP: $630.
