Deloitte is set to deliver VMware's locally hosted hybrid Cloud offering to Australian professional services firms, after becoming an official supplier of vCloud Air.
vCloud Air will go live in early 2015 and will be hosted in Telstra's datacentres.
The partnership will allow Deloitte to offer its clients business driven technology solutions hosted on its hybrid cloud services, including SAP solutions ‘as-a-service’.
The hybrid service is based on VMware's vSphere virtualisation software and allows firms to move their workloads from private to public Clouds.
Deloitte Technology consulting partner, Kevin Russo, said vCloud Air allows Deloitte to provide a locally hosted hybrid Cloud platform for clients using their existing infrastructure, and enables Deloitte developed solutions ‘as-a-service’.
“For Deloitte, our VMware relationship allows us to assist our clients through Cloud enabled business transformation, including the provision of SAP solutions-as-a-service. Our new vCloud Air enabled offerings will deliver true cloud solutions that are directly aligned to business outcomes,” he said.
“This solution partner arrangement is a continuation of the trend Deloitte has seen of professional services being offered on next generation platforms and consumed as a utility.
"This will provide clients with the ultimate in flexibility and agility for true technology enabled business transformation."
VMware managing director, Duncan Bennet, said he was extremely pleased to be strengthening the company's relationship with Deloitte over the coming months through the provision of vCloud Air.
"Businesses are beginning to understand the vital importance of having an effective hybrid cloud strategy in place and the critical nature this plays towards business success," he said.
"We see vCloud Air as the perfect addition to Deloitte’s current cloud ecosystem and an offering which will provide the freedom and flexibility required by one of the global leaders in SAP implementation services."
