Avaya has appointed Jeff Sheard as new head of enterprise and government sales for Australia and New Zealand.
Sheard, who has previously held channel roles at Cisco and Hewlett Packard enterprise group, will be responsible for for driving sales in enterprise and government markets as demand increases for comprehensive, secure and reliable business collaboration solutions.
In past roles he has helped unified communications and Cloud business units generate significant sales growth, according to a company statement, while also building and driving high-level channel relationships with systems integrators, value-added resellers and distributors.
Avaya has also appointed Isabel Botha as corporate counsel for A/NZ.
Prior to joining Avaya, Isabel held the position of legal counsel for CA Technologies in Australia, and also served as in-house counsel to iSoft Group.
Avaya managing director, Tony Simonsen, said the two new executives would contribute significantly to the way the company supported customers and channel partners.
“Jeff’s experience speaks for itself, given his past achievements in building a business unit from the ground up, as well as successfully taking the reins of a more established division," he said.
“Isabel’s drive for collaboration and her unwavering commitment to operate with integrity will ensure we build strong relationships and negotiate mutually beneficial outcomes with our customers and partners, to grow the Avaya Australia business.”
Sheard said he was looking forward to working with public sector and enterprise customers, to help them drive better levels of engagement both within their own teams and with their customers and constituents.
“Avaya is in the unique position of being able to offer its Enterprise customers the most effective solutions to improve efficiencies and collaboration while supporting their business growth, and for government clients we can improve their engagement with the public and all key stakeholders,” he said.
