Red Cloud grows footprint with Cannon data centre pods

The Perth-based company will also soon list on the ASX

Perth-based data centre-as-a-service provider (DCaaS), Red Cloud, has inked an agreement to implement Cannon Technologies T4 modular datacentre range to aid in its datacentre parks expansion plan.

The project will increase Red Cloud’s footprint with the first facility, the Garry Henley Data Centre Park, becoming fully operational in Perth next year. Two more sites will also swing into action in 2015.

The Red Cloud datacentre on demand facilities will incorporate Cannon’s T4 range of MDC Pods, which boast quick deployment in a safe and unobtrusive manner into a working environment.

Red Cloud CEO, Carl Woodbridge, said it conducted a thorough search of modular datacentre offerings globally, but settled with Cannon due to its lower total cost of operation.

Cannon Technologies is based in the UK and designs and manufactures megawatt modular datacentre systems, telecommunications racks and cabinets.

“That was one of our main drivers in selecting the Cannon T4 MDC range, along with the agility of the product to upgrade components for customers. The customisation aspect is proving to be very popular," Woodbridge said in a statement. "We need to provide clients with a blend of cutting edge efficiency, truly granular incremental growth, high security, and expansion logistics without compromising the high resilience required by their operations."

Red Cloud will soon be listing on the Australian Stock Exchange and is also on the Department of Finance Data Centre Supplies Panel, providing products and datacentre services to federal and state government agencies.

Red Cloud also provides channel partners with the ability to customise a modular datacentre and stick their own logo on it. It offers three product types including modular datacentre, mini datacentre and ruggedised datacentre.
