Hitachi Data Systems (HDS) has partnered with Equinix to provision its Hitachi Cloud offering.
HDS’ Compute-as-a-Service solution for managed private Cloud services will be provided through Equinix’ International Business Exchange (IBX).
HDS managed Cloud solutions vice-president and general manager, Emmanuel Goutallier, said Equinix’ global datacentre footprint made it a good choice for Hitachi Cloud.
“Together with Equinix, we leverage the best of both private and public Cloud for a true hybrid Cloud solution,” he said.
HDS’ managed Cloud services will be available from Equinix’ IBX datacentres located in 32 markets around the globe.
Aiming for elasticity
Equinix global service provider vice president, Jim Poole, said the partnership with HDS comes as businesses are looking to move to the public Cloud for improved agility and economics.
“To achieve optimal performance and cost benefits in the Cloud, enterprises are actively consolidating IT assets, positioning systems within strategically located datacentres and ensuring access to multiple Cloud providers,” he said.
However, the challenge lies in ensuring mission-critical applications have the security and service levels demanded by the organisation.
“This partnership with HDS offers fully managed enterprise platforms that are delivered within secure, highly available IBX datacentres around the world,” Poole said.
