Australia's ICT Research Centre of Excellence, NICTA, has opened a new Queensland lab focused on industry engagement and wealth creation.

The team at the new Spring Hill, Brisbane, lab will focus on bridging the gap between great research and industry engagement to deliver wealth creation for all Australians.

To celebrate the opening , NICTA showcased key research across Infrastructure, Transport and Logistics, Broadband and the Digital Economy, Security and Environment. There will be the opportunity to interview senior NICTA researchers and executives.

NICTA , skills and industry transformation director, Simon Kaplan, said NICTA had a significant presence in Queensland.

"However the opening of a laboratory focused on industry engagement shows our focus on driving wealth creation not only in this state, but for all Australians,” he said.

“NICTA Queensland will continue provide access to all of NICTA’s research and business development capabilities.

"However we are also developing some unique capabilities in Queensland around social analytics and organisational development.

"These build on NICTA’s skillset in analytics and systems engineering, as well as our deep partnerships with Queensland’s universities.”
