IT solutions distributor, Avnet Technology Solutions, has signed a distribution agreement with Nutanix, through which it will provide its channel partners in Australia with the Nutanix Virtual Computing Platform.
Partners can use the platform design and develop Web-scale converged compute and storage infrastructure for virtualised datacentres.
Nutanix is recognised as the worldwide market leader in Web-scale converged infrastructure.
“Avnet is well-versed in making complex datacentre solutions a reality for our partners,” said Darren Adams, vice-president and general manager, Avnet Technology Solutions, A/NZ.
“By leveraging the Nutanix platform we can create solutions that are Web-scale, agile, affordable and effortless to deploy and manage, enabling partners to rapidly grow their sales and increase operating speed.”
Avnet’s existing relationship with leading suppliers such as VMware and Citrix allows it to perform as a single-source distributor for developing and deploying cost-effective data centre solutions in which customers only purchase what they require, rather than unnecessary excess capacity.
The company said in a statement that Nutanix' Virtual Computing Platform will complement its portfolio by enabling partners to offer a fully converged infrastructure solution that consolidates the server and storage tiers into a single, integrated appliance.
With this platform, end customers will be able to deploy and scale datacentre infrastructure, reduce the cost and complexity of storage, and integrate the Nutanix platform with legacy components to maximise existing IT investments.
Nutanix A/NZ MD, Wayne Neich, said, “The Nutanix award-winning software defined storage solution works with all hypervisors from VMware and Hyper-V from Microsoft. Avnet’s relationship with leading suppliers like Citrix will help us capitalise on our Citrix Validated Systems certified status to bring Nutanix web-scale solutions to enterprise customers.”
Partners can also leverage the Nutanix platform to deploy Cloud computing capabilities. Through Avnet Cloud Services, partners can take advantage of technical expertise to deliver public, private or hybrid Cloud solutions that best suit customer requirements.
