Blue Square is the third UK betting services company to put its money on ASX-listed VeCommerce's voice-enabled conversational wagering solution, Vebet.
Natural language speech recognition (NLSR) provider VeCommerce has signed a three-year supply contract with the UK betting services company to supply the VeBet solution, which allows callers to talk directly to Blue Square's computer systems and place wagers on a range of events (including racing, sport and financial markets) without having to queue for an operator.
The contract is worth more than $1 million, said VeCommerce managing director Paul Magee.
Blue Square, the UK's largest interactive betting service, offers fixed-odds betting services via the Internet, interactive TV, WAP and over the telephone.
Blue Square is VeCommerce's third VeBet customer in the UK, following Ladbrokes and Littlewoods Bet Direct, which have signed up for the VeBet solution in the past 12 months.
Magee said it introduced its VeBet solution to overseas market after it had sounded out the product in the local market, securing a contract with Australian betting service TAB.
"This agreement with Blue Square is further evidence that leveraging our expertise and local success internationally is the correct growth strategy for VeCommerce," Magee said.
"We've also signed up the market leaders in interactive betting in the US and Canada, and we're working on a Cantonese solution to take to the Hong Kong market."
