The New South Wales government is seeking contributions from the ICT industry and wider community on the annual update of the state’s ICT strategy for 2014-15.
NSW Minister for Finance and Services, Dominic Perrottet, encouraged the community to provide feedback on what the Government describes as its blueprint for better value ICT investment.
“To ensure the public sector is well positioned to take full advantage of new technologies and solutions our strategy is updated annually and we are now seeking community and industry input on the 2014-15 implementation plan.”
The Minister said that over the past two years, the implementation of the ICT strategy had laid the groundwork for a transformation in the way the government delivered services and improved efficiencies.
The government said the ICT Strategy Implementation Update 2014-15 will include new actions to drive the next phase of implementation in open government, open data, infrastructure and managed services, procurement reform, information management, skills and innovation and ICT investment.
The Minister emphasised the importance of input from all sectors of the community on the strategy implementation update.
“I’d encourage people to go to the NSW Government’s ‘Have Your Say’ website and provide their feedback about where they want to see our State’s ICT sector heading,” he said.
The call out comes off the back of the announcement earlier in the week that Service NSW would be moving its contact centre operations to a Cloud-based environment, in a move said to improve wait times and responses for customers.
Public consultation for the ICT Strategy Implementation Update is open until 24 August. Information is available from the NSW Finance department’s website.
