Unified communications firm Amcom has signed as the major sponsor of Big Bash League finalists, Perth Scorchers for the 2014/15 season.
The news comes as the Scorchers sign former Adelaide Strikers batsman, Michael Klinger.
Klinger's signing was revealed using Amcom’s Cloud-based video conferencing technology, Amcom Cloud Collaboration.
Amcom is now the team's co-principal sponsor.
Scorchers coach, Justin Langer, said he was still "pinching himself" at the prospect of Klinger playing for the Scorchers this summer.
Scorchers chief executive, Christina Mathews, said the team was always looking to be innovative with team's communications.
"Overseas players present a unique challenge for us," she said.
"Previously, for example, we’ve engaged a member to help us make the announcement, but being able to present the player live was a first for us."
Amcom chief operating officer, Michael Knee, said using Amcom's Cloud Collaboration for personalised interactions, across multiple locations, was changing the way we all work.
"It’s a great example of how the technology can be used to enhance how our customers do business."
