White-box assembler Protac already has offices in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth. But until now, its New Zealand customers have had to look across the Tasman for distribution of the company's products.
Not anymore. Protac has opened a new office in Auckland, incorporating warehouse, warranty and technical facilities along with a sales team to service the market.
"The reason for this arrangement is to ensure optimum service to all our customers," said Protac managing director Gary Jeng. "We are positive that our New Zealand clients are now able to have all their enquiries handled immediately without the delay of referring to our Sydney branch."
The company is also expanding its line of products, introducing the Slimnote notebooks and the All-in-one PC from Elitegroup Computer Systems (ECS). Protac hopes these products will maintain its standing in the Australian market and help build its New Zealand presence, despite the current IT downturn.
"We welcome the challenge of opening our doors for business in New Zealand and we enjoy the rewards that follow the tremendous effort endured by all," Jeng said.
