Australian network interconnection provider Megaport has launched an app for Microsoft Windows Phone 8.1.
The launch completes the development of the first version of the Megaport App across all three major mobile platforms.
The app allows customers to remotely order, provision and manage Virtual Cross Connects (VXC) between themselves and over 100 Service Providers on the Megaport Elastic Connectivity Platform in real-time at speeds from 1Mbps to 10,000Mpbs.
According to a company statement, customers selecting the Microsoft Windows Phone 8.1 app will also gain access to the self-service portal to manage administrative tasks including creating service tickets, adding service groups, managing their network and account billing.
Users can create VXCs to anyone on the Megaport fabric, anywhere, at any time.
Developed in-house, the app leverages the secure RESTful API server that sits at the heart of the Megaport infrastructure, enabling Megaport’s partners to seamlessly integrate their web, mobile and B2B systems using familiar and well-supported technologies.
Megaport CEO and founder, Bevan Slattery, said launching the complete suite of applications was always the goal: to provide Megaport customers with the power to take complete control of their networks.

The Megaportal app is available today in the Windows Phone Store, Google Play and the Apple App Store.
