Toshiba partners GS1 to "aggressively" target automatic indentification industry

Partnership is one of a series of alliances Toshiba is making in auto-ID

Toshiba has upgraded its partnership with GS1 Australia in an aggressive move into the automatic identification (ID) industry.

GS1 national manager, Joseli Munive, said Toshiba had raised their engagement with GS1 Australia to the status of Business Alliance Partner from Associate Alliance partner.

"This is excellent news in the adoption of global standards and Australian supply chain businesses that apply GS1 standards,” she said.

“This partnership development marks an important milestone for Toshiba as they augment their products and solutions offerings to the Australian marketplace and invigorate their place in the auto-ID industry.

Toshiba national channel manager, Hari Tharmakumar, said his company was was thrilled to be partnering with GS1.

"This partnership is part of a series of alliances Toshiba is making as we aggressively grow into the auto-ID industry," he said.

"Australia plays an integral part in Toshiba’s global efforts to deliver innovative solutions to a rapidly changing market.
