Brisbane identity access management company, First Point Global, has appointed information security industry veteran, Barry Metzger, in a bid to drive the company's rapid expansion.
Metzger will join the Melbourne office and take responsbility for growing FPG’s business and managing customers in Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia.
According to a company statement, Metzger’s goal is to ensure First Point Global continues its rapid business growth with a deeper focus on existing and new customers in Victoria, South Australia and WA.
Metzger said First Point Global had a 15-year track record of successful identity and access management solutions delivery and relationships with world-leading and innovative IAM vendor partners.
“Consumer Identity is the hot ticket item right now and an area FPG has taken a leading position in after establishing itself in the enterprise identity market,” he said.
“That is a key focus for the Southern Region where we will be helping organisations to make an impact in the digital consumer space.
"Everyone is trying to stop the next level of churn by getting closer to their customers and delivering better digital services.”
FPG chief executive and founder, John Havers, said every First Point Global employee was a customer advocate, dedicated to customer success.
“Barry Metzger is well known in the information security industry for ensuring successful outcomes for enterprise customers," he said.
"That is why I have been asking him for the last 10 years to join FPG and contribute to the company’s growth and why I am delighted he is now joining us in Melbourne.”
Metzger’s was most recently employed as senior solutions specialist for Symantec Australia.
Before that he spent 14 years with IBM, where he was a senior security solutions specialist after holding e-business, e-commerce and security solutions sales roles.
Prior to joining IBM, Metzger was a security and eCommerce portfolio manager for Sun Microsystems.
