Household appliance company Electrolux has partnered Mint Wireless to introduce a mobile payments solution for its technicians across Australia.
Electrolux will develop a mobile payments solution using Mintegrate, a platform for developers to integrate mobile payments into mobile apps for iOS and Android devices.
According to a company statement, the solution includes a secure and bank-grade compliant chip and PIN device that will allow its service technicians to accept card payments on their Android smartphones and automatically reconcile transactions with Electrolux's back-end systems.
Mint Wireless, chief executive, Alex Teoh, said he was delighted to partner with a global brand.
"Mint Wireless eliminates the complexities of reconciling payments from customers and improves the cash flow of businesses as payments are credited to their account on the next business day," he said.
"Customers can also be assured that their card payments are being taken on a secure and compliant device, similar to any device a consumer would use in a retail environment."
Electrolux senior corporate controller, David Lee, said the company was committed to drive innovation globally and to make the lives of its employees and customers easier.
"We have designed our appliances with our customers in mind and we are now working with Mint Wireless to make the lives of our customers easier by providing them with a hassle free option to pay wherever they are."
From June, technicians will have an Android mobile device and a branded card reader.
All transactions will be captured and accessible on a web-based admin portal allowing office employees to view transaction histories.
