Sydney-based JCurve Solutions is ramping up its telecommunications software play through the purchase of telco management software vendor, The Full Circle Group (TFCG), for an undisclosed sum.
TFCG was founded in 2004 by Tony Simmons, who worked previously as a lawyer serving telecommunications providers such as Telstra and British Telecommunications (BT Group).
JCurve director, Chris Gabriel, said the acquisition of TFCG gives JCurve further management, sales and development capabilities, alongside a new range of consulting services spanning benchmarking, audition and optimisation, proposal evaluation and tender management.
“With mobility driving productivity for Australian business, this acquisition will continue to drive telecoms savings and improve efficiencies when managing telecoms for customers,” he said.
JCurve claims it is confident the acquisition will benefit from the recent investment into TFCG’s telco expense management solution, which is built on Ruby on Rails technology. Ruby on Rails is an open source framework which can lower software development costs and timeframes.
The purchase coincides with the raising of about $2.5 million in a placement of shares by JCurve hope of expanding the footprint of its Netsuite-powered accounting and enterprise resources planning (ERP) software.
JCurve claims it has experienced a “substantial increase in the acceptance and adoption of its product in the SME Cloud accounting and ERP space”, and it is now looking to capitalise by increasing its marketing operations.
“JCurve has huge potential to attack the lucrative small business market with a quality product offering, designed specifically for small businesses, that enables simple and easy transition to a fully-featured software system,” JCurve managing director, Graham Baillie, said.
“The funding will let JCurve raise its profile and capitalise on the opportunities in the growing Cloud small business software market.”
