Flash vendor, Fusion-io, has headhunted network Brocade's APAC managing director and Australian channel sales boss in a renewed push into the A/NZ market.
Former Brocade senior vice-president; Charlie Foo, who was appointed Fusion-io senior vice-president and managing director in January, has been joined by former Brocade channel sales manager Jason Finlayson.
Finlayson, who was hired just two weeks ago, will serve as the new national partner sales manager.
Foo said Fusion-io had seen tremendous growth in the past four years and was now moving from a 'startup' phase into a 'build-up' phase.
"I think, as an international company, if we want to bring the company to the next level of growth we need to get APJ right," he said.
"We have some of the most mature markets and some of the fastest growing markets.
"I am really pleased that Fusion has seen that opportunity in this region and wants to invest and build up."
Foo said the company would have a three-pronged strategy in the region, which would focus on OEMs, such as Cisco, HP and and Dell; the channel and alliance partners.

"We definitely see more resources being invested into this region now."
He said A/NZ was a key market for the emerging company.
"It may not have the same growth as developing countries but it is the most mature market in APJ,"

"It means it's a more profitable market, which means we can plough back savings to the end users for a better experience."
Finlayson, who has been with the company only a few weeks, said it would be launching a new partner program in a few months which would include an SME focus.
"From my perspective the first 30 days is to analyse the market and take and talk to as many partners as possible," he said.
"We do have an existing program, we are just refreshing it," he said.
"The whole idea is to ensure we are rewarding the partners who bring value to the table."
