IT consultancy and infrastructure services provider, Southern Cross Computer Systems (SCCS), has won a multi-million dollar contract to further virtualise Tabcorp.
The exact value of the agreement was not disclosed.
The agreement will see SCCS support and manage Tabcorp’s private Cloud environment.
According to SCCS chief executive officer (CEO), Mike Sakalas, Tabcorp sought to move more of its Cloud-based operations from physical to virtual by further leveraging its existing Cloud platform from NetApp.
Tabcorp IT finance general manager, Anthony Clarke, said the organisation required scalable management of its private Cloud environment and virtualisation of its physical infrastructure.
SCCS was part of a formal tender which involved a number of providers. It won the contract “due to its flexibility, technical skills, long history in the local industry and account management approach,” Clarke said.
This new contract builds on an existing relationship between the two companies which spans about 18 months during which time SCCS has been providing managed services to Tabcorp’s workplace desktop area.
