Accellion names new GM

New GM charged with bringing Accellion's newest mobile solution, kiteworks, to business leaders

Mobile solutions company Accellion has named Patrick Conte new senior vice president and general manager of worldwide field operations.

Conte will be charged will charged with bringing Accellion's newest mobile solution, kiteworks, to business leaders around the globe.

Accellion chief executive, Yorgen Edholm, said Conte brough extensive experience in leading sales teams.

“Business leaders around the globe are looking for mobile solutions that will enable their employees to work wherever, without fear of additional data security risks,” he said.

“The addition of Patrick to our team ensures that our newest mobile solution, kiteworks by Accellion, is getting into the hands of these leaders.”

Prior to joining Accellion, Conte served as EVP and GM at Scale Computing, the maker of industry leading hyperconverged systems, and as SVP & GM of field operations at Azul Systems, a developer of optimized Java platforms for large enterprises.

Earlier in his career, Conte was the VP of sales and marketing at Cobalt Networks, and a key member of the executive team that led Cobalt’s IPO in 1999.

Additionally, Conte ran field operations for Topspin Communications, a leader in high performance computing, which was acquired by Cisco in 2005.

Conte said he was excited for the chance to bring a revolutionary product like kiteworks to enterprise customers, and to provide them with a mobile-first productivity solution that also had the unique architecture and security features required to keep business data compliant.

“Accellion is on a great trajectory, and I’m looking forward to the working with the great team here,” he said.

“We have an opportunity to utilize all the energy that is building around our industry, to expand the reach of kiteworks to customers around the world.”
