IT outsourcer recognised for enhancing its corporate social responsibility

IT outsourcer Infosys has won the 2013 Ian Kiernan Award for Corporate Responsibility.

Named after prominent Australian environmentalist Ian Kiernan, the national award recognises Infosys for its success in enhancing its corporate social responsibility.

Infosys Senior Vice President and Country Head for A/NZ, Jackie Korhonen, said she was thrilled to see this recognition of more than 700 Infosys employees who are active volunteers in Infosys-sponsored initiatives.

“As much as they have contributed, our people are telling us that they are getting back more: building stronger connections with each other and with our community through active participation such as volunteering, goods donations and pro bono work,” she said.

Ozanam House volunteer, Louise Augustinus, said, for the past three years, the volunteers from Infosys had been assisting our catering team in preparing more than 8,000 meals a month for the lunch time meal program.

“We would not be able to provide this level of fresh, healthy and nutritious meals without the support of our volunteers and staff from Infosys,” she said.
